Photoshop Quick Tip : Bigger Font Previews
If you find youself squinting at the previews in the list of fonts in the font drop down menu, then help is at hand. In Photoshop CS2 and CS3, you can set the font preview size to anything from Small to Huge. Choose Edit > Preferences > Type and you’ll see the dialog box below.

In the drop down menu, choose the size you want for your font preview. In the illustration below you can see the default setting of medium font preview size (on the left) and the difference when I changed the setting to large. Much easier to see.

Yippy, I am a happy photoshopper!!! My preferences are under the Photoshop drop down, but it worked awesome. No more squinting and quessing. Thanks!
Yikes ! Rachel, that doesn’t sound too good. What version of PS do you have? I think it’s only available in CS2 and CS3/
Sal, glad it helped.
My momentary elation, quickly faded to sullen brooding as I quickly fliped from IE to PS to apply my newfound ‘tip’ = only to discover that my failure to move into the new century by not upgrading past the original (now apparently archaic) CS.
After I came back and continued readding nto the comments I see that I am once again foiled by my frugality. heh
That’ll teach me - it’s high time I upgraded to CS2 or skipped completely on to CS3
Thanks for the tip anyways!
Hi Jayson, thanks for visiting.
Not to worry, I’ll try and put up a few tips that cover all the CS versions next time. Many of the fundamentals are the same from CS through to CS3.
