Photoshop Tip : Clone from one image to another
Posted by Jennifer Farley | April 11, 2008 | 3 Comments
You can clone an image, or part of an image onto a separate image in Photoshop using the Clone Tool. Here’s how to do it;
1. Make sure that you have two images open - the one you want to clone from and the one you want to clone to.
2. Select the Clone Tool (S) and Alt + Click (windows) or Option + Click (mac) on the first image to select a sample point.
3. Switch over to image you want to clone onto and start painting.

Design A Postcard

An Post (the Irish Postal service) are inviting anyone and everyone to design their own postcard as part of a large exhibition that will tour Ireland in 2009. The idea is to design and make a postcard then send the card to An Post. The design can be absolutely anything and this sounds like a great opportunity for anyone interested in graphic design or art to get their work seen. Here’s an example of a previously designed card;

I’m definitely going to put together a few designs myself and send them on. This involves something I haven’t done for a long time - buying a few stamps!! You can find more details here on the An Post C Both Sides website.

10 Dark Business Card Designs (+1 by me!)
Posted by Jennifer Farley | April 3, 2008 | 23 Comments
I’ve been doing some logo design work and a business card for a client and I generally offer two variations on a theme. In this case I put together a card on white paper – fairly traditional - and also a darker design – a very, very dark red. I was delighted the client took the bold move of choosing the darker card design. You can see the front of the card below, with the back underneath it.

Needless to say before I started work, I went searching for inspiration and in my travels, I came across some nice examples of dark coloured business cards. Here’s ten business card designs that I liked, with links to their creators websites.
