Unless you’re living in a cave, there is a strong chance that every day, you use something that was designed by another person. Whether it’s your car, your mp3 player or even the chair your sitting on, “man” has been involved in the design.
Objectified is a new documentary film by Gary Hustwit, who also made the film about the graphic design and typography called Helvetica. Objectified is about industrial design and while it’s not a field I work in, like most designers I’m interested in all aspects of design. Below you’ll find the trailer for the movie. Does anyone know who does the music in this clip? It’s pretty catchy.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, I loved Helvetica. I finally convinced some of my non-designer friends to watch it, and they loved it to. This film looks great, first Typography and now Product Design, it’s going to be a great new year.
Also I emailed the filmmakers about the music in the trailer and this is what they said: “It’s El Ten Eleven, the song is “I like Van Halen Because My Sister Says They Are Cool” After a little searching it’s on the album “These Promises Are Being Videotaped” ww.elteneleven.com is their site.
Speaking of product design, here’s a funny farcical Onion piece on the future of Apple Computer’s product design. “Apple Introduces Revolutionary New Laptop With No Keyboard.”

Wow Devlin!
You are a mine of information, thank you! That’s a great name for a song.
God Bless The Onion too. I didn’t realise they’re doing video now. That’s brilliant.

I’d love to know, are there going to be any screenings of this in Ireland?
