To express our gratitude for your service, Baltimore Humane Society offers waived adoption fees for any First Responder with a current valid id. Any police officers, firefighters, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, or 911 dispatchers from any jurisdiction are welcome to adopt any of our shelter pets for free.

While the rescue groups hold smaller free adoption events throughout the year and waive fees for pets over a certain age or those with medical issues, the Pet Adoption Days are the only time the groups do free adoptions at the same time. Senior community members adopt senior pets FREE. Cats and dogs seven years and older are a perfect match for our 60-and-up community members.
