Squirrel Removal is among the most common requests from residents of Flint, Michigan

WE have squirrels in our attic. Our home is old and we have a walk up attic that is easy to access through a stairway. I have already caught 3 small squirrels (not really babies but small) with a live trap and released them far from our home. We now have at least one more, but this one seems too smart and we haven't been able to trap it. We can not sleep at night due to all the noise. We need help. Larry D.

We have a wood siding house and there are holes that have been created by squirrels in the chimney area. Our bedroom is adjacent to that part of the house and from what I can hear, they come in and around about 2 and leave about 7-7:30 every morning. I am looking for a solution to get rid of them all together. The noise is just too much. Charles S.

We have several squirrel families (at least 6-8 adults) residing in the trees in our yard. We have noticed lots of bark removal and small branch death. Besides the tree damage, we have a small child and a dog. They spend lots of time playing in the yard. Beyond the tree damage, what is the danger? Can we just deter them? How do you trap squirrels outside? Jackson C.

The legislature put the limit on the hunting office that included some sort of 10-year sunset clause. The cost of inflation coupled with the reduction of revenue that had been allocated through the General Fund via the legislature has compounded the fiscal budget problems. Starting four years ago, the Agency of fish & game began aggressive cost cutting measures that have brought services to some sort of bare bones level.
