6. Our fountains can be made "mischievous pet safe" like no other fountain can. We offer designs to eliminate "pawing" water out onto the floor. We can "batten down" the lid and secure other components so that even the worst "fountain disassembler" has met his/her match. Find batteries, extra receiver collars, replacement door flaps, fountain filters, and more for your PetSafe® product.

This fountain has a battery compartment attached to the bowl. This compartment can be equipped with either a D-cell holder (holds 3 or 4 alkaline batteries or 4 NiMH 10.000mAh rechargeable batteries) or a USB Li-Ion battery. The pump runs continuously for approx. 5 to 6 days with alkaline D-cells, approx. 3 days with rechargeable NiMH D-cells and 2 to 4 days depending on the number and type of USB Li-Ion batteries used. The fountain comes with either a D-cell holder or an adapter for a USB battery (your choice.) Batteries are not included and must be purchased separately (we provide recommendations on types/sources.)
This fountain can also be plugged in using a low voltage power transformer or a USB battery charger (not included); in this case, without the battery.

Our fountains have three filters. The first filter is an easy to clean stainless steel mesh placed in the backflow opening to catch larger debris like hair and food. The second filter is a foam filter inside the pump, keeping the pump cleaner longer. For the third filter, you have your choice of housing for the Drinkwell 360 filter and one cartridge or Ebi’s refillable Bio Filter with one filter media bag and charcoal fill. The Drinkwell is easier since you just pop one cartridge out and another in; the Bio Filter is much more economical since you fill it with course grade aquarium charcoal, which costs less than $10 a year to refill.
The 1st filter - the mesh filter - can be secured if your cats decide to play with it. The 2nd and 3rd filters are well hidden in the bowl, easy to reach for you but not your pet - and simple to change.
This fountain is equipped with a quiet, safe low-voltage pump, which can be powered either by battery or a transformer.
Unlike plastic pet fountains that develop cracks, this handcrafted drinking fountain is made of durable, nonporous dinnerware-safe glazed stoneware. Clay and glazes are certified non-toxic and made in the USA. Ceramic resists bacteria, commonly found on porous plastic surfaces. The fountain has just 4 parts - bowl, lid, filter and pump -, enabling simple, thorough cleaning.
Visit us at Sorry, but the Animal Planet pet fountain is electric, & definitely does not run on batteries. I have 2 of them, & they're wonderful in comparison to other brands.
