Please check with airline directly. Some airlines allow carriers that are larger than the dimensions they specify if the carrier is soft-sided and pushes down. All Sherpa carriers are made with a patented spring wire frame in the rear of the bag which allows the end to be pushed down several inches to conform to the under seat dimensions without restricting the pet's head room or compromising the structural integrity of the bag.I was wondering if anyone has had trouble flying with their pugs with the Large Sherpa bags? I know that Sherpa guarantees the small and medium bags to be airline approved, but not the large. The dimensions of the large Sherpa bag slightly exceed most airline pet-carrier guidelines, but as soft-sided bags I am assuming they can squish down a little to fit under the seat. Anyone have experience with this?My product review comparing three pet carriers: the Sherpa Delta Deluxe Medium, the SturdiBag Large, and the AmazonBasic Large.

Thank you for watching! I hope this video helped! :)You must also remember that the beauty of these soft sided pet carriers is that they are flexible and can be pushed under the seat. That is why you will find many posts in this forum stating that if it is an inch or two larger that the airline's specifications you shouldn't worry. My latest purchase was a Sherpa Original Deluxe Pet Carrier, Large. Trip was bringing back an 8 week lab puppy DFW-LAX on AA. While AA has a maximum in-cabin size of 19" long x 13" wide x 9" high, they state that "soft-sided pet carriers such as Sherpa bags may exceed these dimensions slightly because they are collapsible." I wanted to make sure our puppy had as much room as possible. We had no issues checking in or on the flight with the large size bag. This website is a godsend! Help me! i bought a maltese mix puppy last year i asked how big he was going to be and they assured me no more then 10lbs which was great because i travel back and fourth to florida to see my mom at least 2 a year. WELL he is 18lbs and i cant bear the thought of leaving him when i fly out on Jan3. i went to petco tonight and they had the large sherpa but the dimensions the girl gave me for the carrier 20Lx11.5hx11.75D is too big for Southwests requirement and he will not be able to turn around but can lay comfortably. any advice would be great as I am hoping he can join me. Thanks
