Every pet adopted from our Main Event will go home with swag and Adopters can enter to win one of our Adopter Raffle Baskets. As a courtesy to the adoptable animals already on site as well as for the safety and well-being of our guests, owned pets are not allowed at the event. If you’d like to schedule a meet-and-greet between your current pet and a potential adoptee, please contact that rescue or shelter directly.

The event on May 21st in Union Square was no exception to this rule. In fact, it was more like the gold standard of successful pet adoption events. And it was MAJOR. According to the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals, which hosts this bi-annual event, there were over 300 rescue dogs, cats and rabbits in attendance, and by the looks of things, well over twice that number of hopeful adopters looking for a chance to bring them home.If you’re a Petco adoption partner and participating in a pet adoption event, we have resources to help make your adoption weekends a success!
